Here are the six most common problems Utah brake repair shops face when a customer brings their vehicle in for repairs. No matter how good of a driver you are brake problems can happen. Stay safe, and pay attention to any problems in your brake system.

The biggest problem Utah brake repair shops face is squeaky brakes, sometimes even right after they have been worked on. A squeaky brake might not be a safety issue, but then again it may indicate a significant problem such as worn pads or shoes. In the case of normal brake operations a gel can be applied to help dampen the squeaks.

Feeling vibrations or pulsing during braking. This could be due to a number of issues and your braking performance will take a hit, but generally it is safe to drive your car to the garage.

Vibrations or pulling to one side – This can be due to any number of issues and your braking performance will be limited. Generally it is safe to drive your vehicle to a garage but perform a brake check just to be sure.

A brake light that is turned on can be a problem. Do not go anywhere as this could be a serious safety issue. Check the fluid level in the brake fluid reservoir. Verify the parking brake is fully released. If neither of these is the issue then it’s most likely a sensor or a leak in a brake line.

Brake light – The brake light is on because the parking brake is engaged or you have low brake fluid. Verify that your parking brake is off and that you have fluid in your brake reservoir. If you need to add fluid more than once in a short time then you have a leak somewhere in your system. Do not drive you car if it has a leak, tow it.

Mushy brake pedal – If the brake pedal goes all the way to the floor with little resistance you need to tow your vehicle to your Utah brake repair company. Do not attempt to drive or you may not be able to stop at all. Hard brake pedal – Check to see if anything has rolled under the brake pedal. If not, have your vehicle towed, don’t chance not being able to stop.

The brake pedal is hard to push. This may sound overly simple, but check to see that nothing is under the brake pedal. If nothing is under the pedal then have your vehicle towed to the garage.

One thing you are responsible to do is maintain your car when you own one. If you choose to neglect your vehicle you will pay for it in expensive auto repair charges. If you really neglect it bad enough you might even fail a smog check. With failing a smog check you have to suffer more expensive auto repair costs. Or you might have the problem of not being able to drive your car.So we shall take a look at some things you can do to help you avoid having some of these problems happening to you.

First of all as mentioned in the previous paragraph you have to keep proper maintenance. All my clients of my auto repair San Diego shop I stress to them how important it is to bring their car in regularly.Regular maintenance helps us locate any problems before they get too big and expensive. And with most auto repair problems the sooner you fix it, the cheaper it is.

Another thing I stress is to make sure they change their oil regularly. Failing to do that is sometimes the root cause of why my clients fail in my smog test San Diego service shop. But if they consistently do this one simple thing their car will run smoother. In addition an engine that is well oiled generally lasts longer.

Finally the brakes are a part of your car that is overlooked so often. This a part of the car that is used everyday, but is so easily overlooked. Whenever a customer of mine brings in a car to my San Diego brake shop it is sometimes one of the most expensive repairs. So I emphasize the importance of taking better care of it in the future.Doing certain simple steps like making sure the fluids are at good levels.

So those are a few things that are something you can do to help you not have expensive auto repair charges. Plus they will also help you make sure you pass your next smog test.

One trend that is gaining steam is when someone is buying a used car, they want the maintenance records. People are looking to see if a used car has a maintenance record. Because you can be pretty sure that somebody who took care of their car, will have a car that will last longer. So if you have a vehicle you own it will be critical to keep a record of all maintenance.Because a lot of buyers will want to take a look at that.

So one of the things you want to make sure to do is to keep a receipt of all service you do for your car. In my auto repair San Diego business I make sure to give all my clients a receipt of the work that was done.Be sure that whatever company you are going to get service from will do the same. This could mean the difference in getting the price you want or settling for a lot less.

Another thing, when you take your car in and get a tune up, make sure you keep that record.Getting your car tuned up regularly will allow your car to last longer and run smoother. It is also beneficial in making your car pass any sort of smog test a lot easier. In my smog test San Diego center I notice cars that weren’t tuned up regularly are the ones that fail the test.

Finallly even for getting your brakes serviced you want to make sure to keep good records of that service. This is another important part of making sure your car is taken care of. It is also something a potential buyer will look at. Because the last thing a new buyer wants is a big expensive brake service they need. So in my San Diego brakes service I make sure to give a thorough report to all my clients.

Hopefully you fully understand how important it is to maintain your vehicles if you want to sell it.Most buyers now want the car they are buying to be maintained.By taking care to keep all maintenance records you will be able to prove that you did maintain it.
